We Have Our Slate

From Peter Swanson:

The Republicans of Minnesota State Senate District 44 held an endorsing convention and picnic on Sunday. The delegates endorsed Dave "Too Tall" Carlson for State Senate. Delegates from House District 44A endorsed Jason Van Buren, while the
delegates from House District 44B endorsed John Palmatier.

Dave "Too Tall" Carlson has been a building contractor for 21 years and is a member of numerous community and fraternal organizations.

Jason Van Buren is a senior auditor with professional experience serving both domestic and international clients. He also serves on the St. Louis Park Human Rights Commission.

John Palmatier is a compliance officer for a large financial services company in Minneapolis. During the 2004 campaign, John and his son knocked on more than 3000 doors in House District 44B.

The rain put a bit of a damper on the festivities on Sunday, but it couldn't douse the enthusiasm of the candidates that were endorsed at the picnic in Hopkins. We have three rock solid contenders for office and, with the scrambling going on within the ranks of the DFL as various candidates bite and claw their way towards the September primary, an opportunity to mount serious challenges to our district's current Democratic hegemony in all three races.
