Jason Van Buren announces his candidacy for the MN House in 44A:
A moderate conservative, Jason Van Buren is a graduate of the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota where he earned his B.S.B. in Finance and Management Information Systems. He currently works as an internal auditor and has experience within public accounting, serving both domestic and international clients.
As an auditor, Jason places value on accountability and responsibility to constituents. Jason seeks to bring these same principles to the Minnesota House of Representatives and restore the public confidence in government through honest community representation.
Jason is active in the community as an Eagle Scout who returned to contribute as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Venture Crew Advisor, and committee person. As a member of the St. Louis Park Human Rights Commission, he serves the city and its residents. Through involvement with local American Indian communities, he partnered with tribal leaders in raising cultural awareness and assisting with educational initiatives. He represented the local community politically through participation in the caucuses and serving as a State Convention Delegate. Jason also participates as an officer of the Alpha Kappa Psi Alumni Board at the University of Minnesota.
