A Fine Time Was Had By All

From a press release from the Alan Fine campaign:

Minneapolis, MN – On, Tuesday evening, August 15, 2006, more than 300 people filled the Varsity Theater in Dinkytown to hear Alan sing, play piano and talk policy. There were Republicans, Democrats, Independents and press in attendance.

Alan started out singing Irving Berlin’s rendition of "God Bless America", played eight original piano pieces and ended singing a classy rendition of the classic "That's All" by Brandt and Haymes. This was followed by a speech and policy discussion that lasted for over an hour in which people asked questions from microphones on the floor.

Alan talked about his vision: "I stand for freedom and preserving our way of life. We don't know what challenges we will face in the future. But, we need to be sure that those representing us have the listening heart and the wisdom, the knowledge and experience, to serve us well." He incorporated this vision in his discussions about his concerns regarding national defense, health care, crime, education, transportation, taxes and jobs.
